The idea for the heating of coastal settlements (where is not have gas - special for russians)
I read the article about heat pumps and find the system of district heating in Stockholm. Their system uses low-grade heat from sea. Since then often comes to me the idea of creating a network in a small coastal settlements, but on a different principle.
To reduce the loss by the transportation of heat, can organize the pipeline network for distribution of low-grade thermal energy directly to the consumer and locally install heat pumps required power.
In other words, set the pump station in the village and make water withdrawals from the sea, rivers, the ocean at a safe distance from the shore. Pumped through the pipeline network and reset in the same waters.
For the heat pump heat (output) 10 kW (maximum power required for heating or cooling and domestic hot water building 100 m2) requires 2 m3 per hour at medium temperature changes by 5 C. Provide a thermal capacity heat pump with a power consumption ~ 3kW (for removal of heat from the water heat pumps have the highest COP)
For a small village, for example 100 houses, taking into account the resistance of the pipeline, the performance will be about 200 m3 / h, so we need a pump of 30 kW. Thus, the energy that will be expended for transport of the water - 150 W*h per 1 m3.
